Some couples just get each other—and Jordan and Cody were one of those couples. Their Laguna Beach summer elopement was soft, meaningful, and full of emotion. They flew in from Arizona with one goal in mind: a simple, beautiful ceremony by the ocean, just the two of them (and a few handpicked people behind the scenes helping it all come together).
This day was so special—not only because of the location and the golden light—but because they used one of my officiants from the Melanie Sidlow Photography team. We love crafting elopements that feel personal and deeply connected, and this one checked every box.

Flying in for a Laguna Beach Elopement
Jordan and Cody knew they wanted something peaceful and beautiful without the big crowd or stress of a full wedding. After some emails back and forth, they booked their date, and I took care of the rest: permits, location scouting, an elopement guide, and one of my trusted officiants to lead their ceremony.
Flying in from Arizona, they wanted their day to feel relaxed and true to them—with ocean views, room to breathe, and plenty of space to just be present.

How We Avoided Summer Crowds in Laguna Beach
Their elopement took place on a weekday evening, which is one of my favorite tricks for keeping things quiet even during summer. I also guided them to a secluded cove tucked between rocky cliffs, where the tide was low and the breeze just right.
We timed everything around sunset to get that dreamy golden hour light—soft, warm, and romantic.

Their Sunset Elopement Timeline
Here’s a peek at how their day flowed so smoothly, with no stress, no onlookers, and all the feels.
3:00 PM – Jordan got ready at a cozy Laguna Beach Airbnb while Cody suited up nearby
4:00 PM – First look on a cliff trail with sweeping views of the Pacific
4:45 PM – Short drive down to our chosen beach cove
5:15 PM – Private ceremony led by one of my in-house officiants (tears were definitely shed)
5:45 PM – Portraits across the beach, along the tidepools, and on the rocks
6:30 PM – Golden hour glow session—my personal favorite time to shoot
7:00 PM – Champagne pop and a quiet moment just soaking it all in
They wrapped up their night with dinner overlooking the ocean at The Deck on Laguna Beach, one of my top recommendations for couples who want something casual but elevated.

Why This Elopement Felt So Special
Sometimes it’s not about the number of guests or the big dress reveal—it’s about being present, choosing intention over pressure, and making space for your love story to unfold in a beautiful, relaxed way.
Having one of my trusted officiants lead the ceremony gave Jordan and Cody a sense of ease and familiarity that made everything flow. I always love when couples trust us to guide them—it truly becomes more than just photos. It becomes a shared experience.
