If you have someone in your life in the wedding industry I can guarantee you that right now they are excited and running 1000 miles an hour with wedding season back in full swing!
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is seeing everything come together, not just for my special couples on their wedding day but seeing them go from their engagement session (Did you know my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session!) to their wedding day!
I know most couples feel like they have waited a long time for their special day. The patience that my COVID Wedding Couples have had is next level. They have waited additional time and rescheduled (sometimes more than once) for their special day and the celebrations happening this wedding season are pretty incredible.
It has been so great to be back to capturing these incredible moments for my couples but after chatting with some fellow vendors and being back into the swing of photographing big weddings, I thought it might be helpful to share a few Wedding Guest Etiquette Tips for couples to think about as they’re planning their special day.
Here are 3 Photo Etiquette Tips to Think about before your special day
Think about how you want your wedding day shared by your guests and the wedding party.
Do you want your wedding party to hold off sharing photos until after the ceremony? Do you want guests to hold off sharing photos of the day until after YOU have had the opportunity to share photos first?
Consider a camera-free ceremony.
Setting expectations for picture taking during the ceremony: Photographers do the best they can to maneuver and get the absolute best shots for their couples. We’re ready to get down on the ground GI-Joe Style to get the perfect angle, but it makes it difficult to capture all the images with multiple guests holding up their smartphones trying to capture your special day. I love their excitement but let them know the professionals have it covered for you.
Consider picking a photo sharing app
for your guests to share their reception photos with you and creating a fun social media hashtag so that you can see all the memories your guest capture.
These are a few of the things I go over with my couples ahead of time as we create a curated plan for how they would like their special day photographed and things I can help them consider that they might not have thought about impacting the wedding day experience.
